And here we go again, a young couple, all alone, ambushed and murdered.
This time Zodiac wears a costume/disguise. The girl is 22 years old,and the
boy 20 yrs of age. Zodiac stabs them both with a knife, that appears to be a kitchen
knife, with cotton surgical tape wrapped around the handle. The boy survives, and states
that when Zodiac ties the girl's hands, his hands are shaking and when
Zodiac stabs the girl he goes into a frenzy. The responding police state her groin area
is soaked in blood. He then walks away and leaves a felt tip pen message on their car
door indicating the dates of all three murders, and his gunsite symbol. This murder is
up close and personal, intimate, filled with emotion. He has successfully killed three young
women now. The boy who survives, describes the killer as being 20 to 30 years of age, based
on voice, was 5'8" to 6'0" tall, 160 to 200lbs. He said he saw some dark brown hair through the
slits in Zodiac's mask. He said his stomach looked sloppy and hung over his pants. He described
the killer's speech to be drawl (slow speech).
The investigators discover shoe prints at the scene of the crime, traced back as military issues
"Wing Walkers", size 101/2R or 101/2D in civilian sizing.
There also is a glass bottle recovered from behind the tree where Zodiac was watching the couple.

Correlations to the crime scene and my suspect

Once again the victims are the same age as my suspect, who is now 20 years of age.
His height is 5'9',his weight is 165lbs, and he has brown hair (with an auburn tint).
His shoe size is 9 1/2 EE, with him wearing a 10 if it didn't come in a wide enough width. I
had to pick up his Red Wing work boots once a year from the Red Wing store on San Pablo
Ave., in Richmond, and they kept his size on an index card.
He would often tell the story of quitting ROTC when he dropped out of San Jose State
the year of 1969. He would say he handed them his boots and told them, "I am no longer
interested in your program."

He does not weigh 200
lbs, but my belief is that he padded his shirt, hence the sloppy over his trouser's look.
He speaks very slowly,deliberatley,with pauses for effect,but with calm authority.
He terrorized me on many occassions with knives, by trade he used knives,and would frequently
take my kitchen knives and keep them for his work purposes. I have seen knives he
owned wrapped with the cotton tape described. Above our kitchen table, and all over the
linoleum floor, there were knife marks where he threw the knives.
The murders are focused on females, this one being particularly brutal, my suspect is
likely the sexual abuse victim of his mother, who was discovered abusing our own son
who was only five years of age.
My suspect is now home from college, moves up the street from his parents into the Big Pink.
He gets a job at the same elementary school he attended as a child as a Janitor.
He spends the summer making the scene in San Francisco, meeting and conversing with many
famous people. In the summer of 1978, when we were first married, he took me to a certain
spot at Lake Berryessa. We packed a picnic, and he drove me to a place he knew of, he would
take me to this same spot over and over during our marriage. Once we arrived we carried the
ice chest and food down to a location under some trees. My suspect would leave to the right
on his own, he came back in a rush, said we had to leave, we grabbed the ice chest and ran back
to the parking lot. Everything went black, he was paranoid and up tight until we got back closer to
home.

October 1969, a white male is observed in a cab in San Francisco by two young
teenagers. The cab driver has his head in the man's lap in the front seat. The teenagers
witness the white man making wiping motions with a white cloth, over the cab driver's
body, above the steering wheel. Then the white man gets out of the cab and goes over to
the driver's side of the cab and repeats this wiping motion with a white cloth. The man then
walks out into the darkness of the city, leaving the bleeding cab driver splayed out . The
teenagers give a description of the assailant to the police and a composite sketch of the
killer is prepared. They state he is 25 to 30 years of age, that he is stocky, that his hair is
reddish brown, that he is 5'8" to 5'9", and that he was wearing thick rimmed eyeglasses.

Correlations to this incident and my suspect

My suspect is 20 years of age.
The muder weapon is a .9mm, type of gun which my suspect owned.
Vicintiy of this crime a short drive from his location in El Sobrante.
Physical description matches exactly, from height to hair color.
After we were married in 1978, I found a pair of horm rimmed eyeglasses in a dresser
drawer in his closet. He never normally wore them.

Zodiac sends a letter now taking credit for the murder of Paul Stine.
In a gruesome twist he included a piece of the victim's bloody shirt.
Interestingly, Zodiac makes no mention of an encounter with the Police.
In this letter he says they drove by him in the dark park.
And then he says something horrifying, he speaks of killing school
children as they come off a bus.

Correlations to my Suspect and this letter.
Zodiac is exhibiting hatred for the police.
My suspect hated the "fxxxxxx pigs". I witnessed him
shove a loaded weapon down in the seat of his arm chair when the
police came to our home one day. "Mother fxxxxxx cops, Mother fxxxxxx
cops." As soon as they came to the door he couldn't have been nicer, "Hey,
guys how you doing, come on in."
My suspect also dropped out of college where he majored in criminal justice.
Zodiac also speaks of killing children.
My suspect was abused as a child by his mother and both parents.
There are suspicious incidents regarding my suspect and missing or murdered children.
He was actually working at the Elementary School he attended as a child as a Janitor
when this letter was written.

Yes, that is a might curious that he waited a month to mention it. Could be that when he wrote this letter the composite had no yet been circulated (both are dated the 13th) and he wasn't ready to admit it was him LE encountered, and after the composite made it's way around he felt it obvious they knew it was him, so might was well open up about it.

By the way, I couldn't help but find your Avatar photo ironic.
My suspect claimed to have partied at Grace Slick's house in Bolinas.
He would not say whether or not they were romantic, she finally kicked him
out of one party for being obnoxious. He was known to crawl around on his hands
and knees at these parties, biting unsuspecting women gently on their ankles.
Very entertaining. He also claimed to have at least talked with Janis Joplin.
The one he claimed to have had an intimate relationship with was Maria Muldar.

Well there's an approach I never tried. Too late now, all it would get me is a swift kick in the head, followed by an arrest.

Sounds like your boy may have been dropping some acid. Although Z never mentioned drugs, might explain his mood swings, unless he was just funnin' with Belli

The next letter sent by Zodiac is called the "Bus Bomb".
It has now been disclosed that Zodiac was observed by the teenagers who
were watching that night across the street from the Paul Stine murder.
The young boy went downstairs and watched from the darkness. They have
given a description of Zodiac and a sketch was drawn, based on their observations.
Zodiac has gone too far, he has risked being discovered.
The Bus Bomb Letter starts out with how angry he is. He claims 7 people killed,
and states he will now make his killings appear like accidents. He appears to be
afraid now and begins to backtrack and tries to cover his tracks.
He claims that he does not look like he does when he is killing, that he is in disguise.
His spelling is poor again. He states he has left no fingerprints behind, to date.
He states he covers his fingertips with 2 coats of "airplane cement".
He claims he was wiping down Paul Stine's cab to leave "fake clews".
He then expresses his dislike of law enforcement and taunts them.

On page three of the bus bomb Letter, Zodiac continues to abuse
the Police, including claiming he encountered two cops as he walked away
from the Paul Stine murder, directing them around the corner, to a man
"who was running by waveing a gun".
Page four launches into how to make a bomb.

My suspect spoke about how easy it was to make a bomb.
He would describe the process in this letter, starting with the part about
fertilizer. During this time he would be living in the Big Pink which had what they
referred to as the basement. If he did build this bomb, I would think the room mate he
was living with during this time would be made aware of it.
He was working as a Janitor at the elementary school.

Page five is the diagram of the Bus Bomb set up.
My suspect did make drawings similar to this one on occasion to
work out these design ideas he had. Unfortunatley I no longer have these
sketches. Once he designed an engine for an automobile. It was a rotary design,
his thought was to make a fast race car. It eliminated all the pistons and most of the
parts currently used in car engines. My father took it to Aerojet and had some of the
engineers run it through the computers there. They said it worked, but it was too fast.
It could run on alcohol. He redesigned it into an egg shape.

Here is where he was living the summer of 1969 and into the 70s
They called it the Big Pink.

I wouldn't believe that this letter was written by my Zodiac except for the
fact that a piece of Stine's bloody shirt was included with the letter. But then
when I read the contents of the letter it appears as though Zodiac is being very
sarcastic here. He is letting Melvin Belli know that he knows Melvin's address.

My suspect would have NEVER asked anyone for help with anything. People came to
him for advice. He was the Authority. And I am sure he justified everything he ever did,
including killing. I wonder if Belli got on TV before this, saying he could help Zodiac if he just
turned himself in. It was a very terrorizing letter sent to Belli, he was making fun of him.

Zodiac next sends another letter asking if they have cracked his recent code.
Then he states "My name is...."
I have illustrated above, that I was able to use the solved 340 code referenced,
to fit my suspect's name. They are all the letters of his name with the letter A,
then his name. His intials are PSP. Notice almost every letter and correspondence
Zodiac sends there are many P.S. PS PS
He says his bus bomb was a dud, that he got swamped out by rain. See the Big Pink
the basement portion of the house had an earth floor.

frighteningly similar....

On April 28th, 1970, Zodiac sends a greeting card now threatening
a bombing and asking folks to wear nice Zodiac buttons. He maligns
Melvin Belli.

I'm not sure if I have provided enough handwriting comparisons, but I will give
it a break for a moment. All I can say about this Dragon Card is it is much more
real to my suspect's personality than the one sent to Melvin Belli's office.

On June 26th, he then sends in another letter stating school is out now.
It includes a code and a map. The peak of Mount Diablo is marked with the
Zodiac Killer's symbol cross hairs in a circle. He is still threatening to kill children.
He claims he killed a man with a .38.

My suspect's father owned a snub nosed .38 pistol. It is likely where his other guns
are being kept, which I have notified LE about. Knowing my suspect he would not have lied
about his count of killings, where he is indicating Z-12 SFPD-0

My suspect grew up less than 30 minutes from Mount Diablo and was very familiar
with the area. He also spent alot of time up in the Mount Shasta area. They say on a
clear day you can see Mount Shasta from the top of Mount Diablo. Mt Shasta is just
240 miles away to the North of Mt Diablo, both in California.
My suspect would often remark in the car on the drive up to Shasta, "The engineers who
built Interstate 5 used the peak of Mt Shasta as the meridian point."

Mt Diablo is the actual Meridian and Base line for determinig property lines for this part of
the country. The Meridian Lines run North to South. It runs all the way North from Mt Diablo
to Mt Shasta, which is four degrees to the right of the Meridian Line.

While looking at a map of Mt Diablo, pointing North, and then moving over just four degrees,
I see a road called Marsh Creek. It would have been a route for transporting school children. The Bomb
Map shows a diagram of the sun coming up from the east with the mountain breaking away to the
right, which would make sense to the location of Marsh Creek to the mountain. Take the peak the
meridian is based on, pointing north, go 4 degrees to the right, and it interesects with the Marsh Creek
road. Just a thought on this one.

On July 24,1970, Zodiac sends a letter to the San Francisco Chronicle, stating
he is unhappy and so now he "has a little list" starting with the "Woeman" and
her baby he gave a ride to for a few "howers" a few months back, that ended
with his burning her car. If you look closely his spelling errors are phonetic.
In other words, he spells how things sound to him.

Earlier that year, in March, a preganant woman with a baby was brought into the
Patterson, CA Police station hysterical. She said she was pulled over by what seemed
to be a good samaritan who indicated her back tire was loose. He kindly adjusted it for her,
and then when she went to drive off, the entire tire fell off. He told her to get into his vehicle
and he would drive her to a service station for some help. Except he never did. They passed
several stations. At first she asked him if he always helped people like this, and he responded,
"When I get through with them they don't need any help." They continued to drive around the
Hiway 132 area near Modesto. He started to tell her calmly, "You know I'm going to kill you."
He kept repeating this. At one point in time, he states he will throw the baby out of the car.
When she felt she could get a break, she jumped from the car with the baby and ran into an
orchard. She said he pulled out a flashlight and began to scan for her, but a truck driver came
up and asked what was going on. The man got back into his car and drove off. Some passerbys
gave she and the baby the ride to the police station. Later when looking for her car, they found
it had been set on fire.
When brought into the Police station, she became hysterical again when she saw the "Wanted"
poster for the Zodiac Killer on the station wall. She said, "That's him!", " That's the man that gave
us the ride!" She would recount that his cat was an later model american made, pale is coler, with
black buckets seat and a console. She said the man appeared to be 26 to 30 years old, with dark hair
and weighing about 165lbs., she said he had pock marks or scarring on his chin.

This story speaks to me, because I personally relate to how she was terrorized by this man that night.
No one makes up a story to have their car burned, when it offers nothing but problems to a broke
pregnant, with young baby, out of towner. I've always thought it was fascinating how authorities think
victims have nothing better to do with their time but create these elaborate dramas. No doubt Kathleen Johns
was a damaged woman after that encounter. Can any of you who have children imagine how it must feel
to have someone threaten to throw your baby out of a moving car? I too experienced Law Enforcement who
really did nothing more than take a report, and frequently get the details incorrect. "Tell your neighbors if they
hear you screaming, to call 911."

The speech pattern Kathleen Johns describes is very familiar wit they way my suspect spoke.
I once had a party and invited an attractive girl from work, who my suspect liked.
I feel asleep, and as she was leaving she said he followed her out to her car, and kept saying to
her over and over, "I could just kill you."
The physical description of my suspect fits nicely as well as the age.

The things about Kathleen Johns account which ring true to my suspect start with
location: See the maps below, my suspect lived near Richmond, CA a drive to
the Hiway 132 area by either taking 580 or Hiway 4 south. There are many escape
routes from what appears to be a remote area. See the proximity to Mt. Diablo.

Kathleen Johns described a light colored vehicle with black bucket seats with a console.
My suspects mother's car which he drove frequently had black bucket seats and a console.
A Pontiac Gran Prix see the phot like the car they had, and see my suspect standing behind
the actual car with the black interior.

KJ also stated the car had a cigarette lighter on the console. This is very rare. I don't know if the Pontiac GP had it.

On July 26, 1970 Zodiac sends in a disturbing psychotic letter.
He details how he will torture all his already dead victims in the
afterlife. Wow. He then begins to quote an entire song from a
Gilbert and Sullivan comedic opera called the Mikado. They were
indeed mocking the Japanese, with a main character being Ko-Ko
the High Lord and Executioner. And he has a little list of all the people
he sees fit to execute. Zodiac qutoes the song, but in a phonetic fashion
getting some of lines wrong, much like when we hear a song on the radio
and sing lyrics that sound like the song, but are actually incorrect. See
below the difference between the written lines form Mikado, versus Zodiac's
version. So it appears he listened to this music, but did not have knowledge
of it like working it in a play.

Some believe that he was going by memory and not writing the Mikado lines from something he was reading. Others believe he was a groucho marx fan, and was interested in the Mikado because of the version done by Marx.

I wondered if he was actually transcribing it from audio and mis-hearing the lyrics. I'm sure we've all done that - know I have.

On October 27, 1970 zodiac mails a macbre halloween card to San Francisco Chronicle
reporter Paul Avery. He is indicating 14 victims on this card. Of course, he is terrorizing
poor Mr. Avery, letting him know he is being watched.
