Mazzy's POI

Well I never new anything about the Zodiac killer or had a interest until May 2009. My graduated from Union Mine High School in June 2008. He then moved to Santa Cruz to go to college. Nick (my son) and his good friend Matt found a 1 bedrom apartment at Riverview apts. The apartments are kinda eerie as they are tucked back in the corner with the San Lorenzo River right in the back.
I helped him move as we were moving his belongings in a older man of 66 years old invites himself in and introduces himself. He was drinking a beer and chain smoking. The man wanted to tell us that if the boys heard screaming at night from the place next door, to ignore it because the old lady he cares for has dementia. I thought to myself how I wouldnt want that man caring for me when Im old. Anyways..... After they were settled in the apt this man tells the boys that he was once a suspect for the Zodiac, the boys blew it off they were not interested in what this guy had to say, The man would go to there apt everyday to drink beer, party with the college kids. My son really disliked him, in fact once he had to get in his face and threaten him because evertime my sons girlfriend walked by he would make rude comments, for example I love a parade, or comment about her butt. Then tells my son that he would have a run for his money back in the day when he was young. The boys would come home from school and there would be a cigarette butt of the brand he smoked left in the middle of the counter. The man only has his groceries delivered. He drives and his in good health. The man orders pizza every Friday night from a local pizza place and has it delivered, but one night he harrasses the girl so bad with sexual comments about her butt that she was in tears and they refuse deliver to him any longer.
So...even though the man is a caretaker for the lady next door, he also has his own apartment in the same complex that he has had for 30 years, hanging from the mans door is a skeleton year round, on the ladys porch he keeps a pumpkin year round, we truly never thought anything of it we just thought he was strange.

I was at home one day in May 2009 and I got a text message from my son that read "Mom, I live next door to the Zodiac killer." So I called my Son on the phone and asked why he thinks this. He told me that the man next door asked the apartment manager who is good friends with my son.....the man asked if they could help him move his stuff to another storage so they did, everything was in boxes but a couple of the boxes were not tightly closed and the boys went through it. They found a lot of knives all of them were ordered by mail. Western bullets for a .38. Strange poems one was titled They dont make girls like they use to. Another poem was titled Life is Pain I copied the poem....

they found a black hood, and a piece of material with dried blood all over it, a old wallet with 2 ford keys and a old medallion with a #. Some black and white polaroid pictures with a woman hog tied, also a fountain like pen set, 2 older comic books The green lantern and spiderman. A kit to make your own cards. So after the boys and the apartment manager saw all this stuff they went on the internet and compared handwring and the handwriting is very similar, spacing and punctuation is similar as well.

After I saw everything and Im sure I have left alot of it out I started investigating this guy as well. I talked to his ex wife in Texas a few times and she did not say no to my assumptions of the man being Zodiac, she said I would not doubt it and the last conversation I had with her she said that she would testify in court and that he is a bad bad person, she is scared to death of him. They had a son together and he committed suicide around 4 years ago.
He was in the Navy and still today wheres wingwalker boots that zip up the side.
On April 20th 2009 The lady he cared for died.
The mans B-day is 4-14-44
His brother lives on Button St and works for 911 dispatch.
I attached a sample of one of the post it notes he often leaves around the apartments.

One last thing....I cant say his name but his name seems to be the clue to his identity, and he does leave clues to his name with dates and times of the murders.

The hood is handmade and he has several pics of the moon but only in this stage.

Pretty interesting. He may be a "wannabe" Zodiac suspect, perhaps like Arthur Leigh Allen. I would suggest you check to see if you can find an arrest record for him, or an address history to see if he lived in southern CA during possible Z activity down there. I will take a closer look at the writing to see how closely it compares to Z.

Wow. What a piece of work. That handwriting really jumps out at me (particularly the cross-circle symbol and the multiple exclamation points), the hood looks suspicious, and his background isn't too shabby, either. Like morf said, though, he might just be another wannabe. Have you notified the police at all, Mazzy?

Just a quick note on what I see in the handwriting, and I will try to look closer later, but his "i" is dotted far to the right(like Zodiac), and those exclamation points look similar to Zodiac.

But the crosshair symbol seems a bit over the top to me, as I dont think the real Z would broadcast that symbol all over.

Looks like the Zodiac "K" always connects, and the "K" from Mzaay's POI doesnt.

I would say overall, there are some similarities and some differences, but mostly diferences. Of course, this is only ONE piece of writing from Mazzy's POI

Point. If Zodiac had changed as his 1974 communications seem to indicate, he would probably have put the Zodiac persona and all its trappings behind him. The inclusion of the crosshair, now that I think about it, seems like someone's need to appear like a badass. "Don't mess with me - I could be that guy. You know. That guy."

I have more handwriting samples I will post. The man next door changes his style handwriting as often as Zodiac. I thought no it wasnt Z because the mans es were always different, then I found a e like the mans on "The bates had to die" note . ok I want ti thank everyone for being open minded and kind.

AT first we thought this guy is a copy cat, trying to scare everyone. My son heard him at 12 midnight torture that women next door, every single night she would scream someone help someone please help me. The boys never did anything because of what the Man told them the day they moved in, that she screams at night from dementia. I think about it now and that is crazy same time every night now she is dead. I have tried to contact LE, but his brother is involved with cops. I have sent letters to SFPD, Vallejo, and the FBI.
Oh yeah my Son saw pictures of him when he was younger and said it looks like the composite of Z. I think even now he matches the composite of Z and the physical description. He is 5'10ish, 190ish, and stocky build with a rather big face.
My sons girlfriend took a video of him at her bday party and in the video he was telling a story I noticed he was using the same hand sign as the skeleton on the halloween card.....creeps me out. On alyssas bday party the man showed up at there apt at 11pm with a bottle of scotch. My son was the only one who didnt drink it, the rest that drank it all got really sick and had no memory of the previous night. So if this guy is Z I do think he is still dangerous.

Is there any way to get into the boxes that your son helped with? Would be interesting to see what else is in there.

My Son moved out it felt as though he is being watched all the time. I have the mans phone number and he still does live there. The man has 2 full storage units full of more stuff. One from what I am told has been there since 1969.
I drove to santa cruz one day because I wanted to snoop around the apartments, and I ran into the man and ended talking to him or should I say listening to him talk for 30 min. I felt as though he remembered me Nicks Mom and was patronizing me the entire conversation. He talked a whole lot about religion, christianity, The movie young Frankenstein, really random off the wall stuff. Another strange thing about him the man does things same time same day like "clock " work. Very into time.

I don't know whether he is the Z or not but his behaviour is alarming. I don't know whether the Zodiac would be so open about it even at this time but stranger things have happened. Not that I'm an expert on these things but could the mask be some kind of S&M mask as in shop bought rather than home made, some of those masks are weird looking.

The thing about the old lady with dementia, I don't know whether he was doing things to her or not (from what you've described already I wouldn't put it past him) but I have a neighbour who is in her late seventies and has dementia and she screams the place down. It is frightening to listen to and goes on sometimes for up to an hour, usually when her carers or daughters are trying to get her up in the morning. If this was happening late at night he could have been trying to put her to bed. If it wasn't that I live here and have heard it for the last couple of years I would think walking past that someone was getting killed, it is that bad. So he may just have been caring for her as I can vouch that my neighbour sounds like this woman, the only time she is quiet is when she is in respite or she looks doped up to the eyeballs on her medication.

I would probably try and see if you could get more stuff from the guy, the photos of women particularly, but he may be some S&M porn pervert thus his behaviour towards women and poss the photos. Did he have any guns?

Yes he has several gun, some are shot guns. He always carries a .38 in his boot. when the lady screamed at night he use to yell shut the f____ up. Not a very nice thing being a caretaker. He could be into S&M as well. Some of the photo's indicate that he is gay.

did he show your son or the other guys any extra attention when he would hang out?

yes the man was very attentive to my sons room mate. I have a video my son took at one of the college parties that I wish I could share. The video shows his build and you can hear his voice as well.
