Two or three messages back, in this topic, is a bibliography of Chronicle news articles pertaining to the Zodiac killer. I have no clue why the baby article is included but if you click the above link, the baby article is there with the Zodiac stuff. Maybe the poster of the bibliography thought the baby was a possible Zodiac victim????? Its mentioned in the Graysmith book.

QT A connection to Zodiac was printed in the newspaper.

What became of that case? - tahoe27 wrote:
- I wonder if that article could have inspired Zodiac's comments in his Nov. 9, 1969 bus bomb letter - about the cops deserving to have holes in their heads if they thought he would actually take out a school bus. Maybe it actually bothered him he was considered as a possible murderer of children. ??

It is interesting that authorities thought there might be a Zodiac connection and they describe the suspect in the knifing as a 20-year-old youth approximately six feet tall. Guess we could infer they thought Zodiac probably looked like that too.
Like you, it is almost more than my imagination can conjur that anyone could knife anyone, let alone a two-year-old child. - traveller1st wrote:
- Possibly if you consider the John's account to be Zodiac and that the baby may have played a part in her survival. That being said he did state that the cops deserved to have holes in their heads if they thought he was going to take on a school bust 'the way he had stated' and then went onto to say he would blow it up instead.

- The killing was never solved. There was speculation that little Shelly had been killed by dogs and not knifed. I'm really not sure what the exact cause of death was determined to be.
Perhaps the connection to Zodiac by the press was partly due to the announcement of Zodiac saying he was going to shoot kiddies as they came bouncing off the school bus. There is an article in the same newspaper titled "Zodiac Threat- Riding Shotgun in School Buses". - morf13 wrote:

Hell has a special place waiting for somebody that would do that to a 2 year old...I hope it was dogs. - onewhoknows wrote:

So they say there was a man in a white t-shirt running away from the body. Did they ever think to check and see if it could have been the same guy who killed Snoozy and Furlong? Almost seems like a given if it was human caused.
Bites and slices would surely look different. - morf13 wrote:

I have an 18 month old and there is no way she is setting foot out of the house without me, and she wont be 6 months from now either, so what is the background on that part? How does a autopsy not reveal if a person dies from dog bites or stabbing? Doesnt sound realistic - KEY.SMITH697 wrote:
- What of this two years old name shelly? dogs or knifed? you should be able to tell the cause. Something not right about this little shelly. how did she get to this location? How long was she missing? hOW FAR FROM HER HOME was she? And some man? running away it dosen't sound right. You should be able to tell from pictures if it is a dog bit or stabbing come on They cover-up alot back then, so people wouldn't get up-set. I wonder could this case be looked in to again. Just to clear-up the
