Unsolved Murder in Vallejo of George Pimental: Possible Connection to North Cal Murders and/or Zodiac?

Via a Google Books search, it appears that there are copies of "The Eye and the Finger" at seven Californian Libraries, including Stanford Uni at Palo Alto. Not sure if they are only available to students but I would guess that a visitor could probably read it AT the Uni.

Perhaps worth a phone call ?

It does indeed say a "mutiliation killing." (Zam and Sandy were right as usual!)

Note it says the detective in the Pimental murder got a "cryptic letter" after the murder. That is very important. I would love to read what it says. Zam, Sandy, Ricardo, other Cal researchers - have any good contacts at Vallejo PD to see what that letter says?

Communication of any kind in a murder case is very rare, let alone a "cryptic" communication. Certainly matches the pattern in Zodiac and Aardsma.

Wow! It would be great to know more about that letter. I wonder if its ever been disclosed to the public?

Thanks Bently for posting ALL that info for us! Totally appreciate it. I'm digging around more on this end to see if we can tap into any more information. I have a feeling we will, as I have a few maybes to look into. Thanks for EVERYONE's support an team work on this THREAD, it really makes a difference and helps cover all possible aspects to look into.

Article 2, a few guys where busted for a dice game...kinda funnie news, ahhhh 1971.

It somehow reminded me of Kelly's (Mary Jane Kelly) gruesomely mutilated body was discovered lying on the bed in the single room where she lived at 13 Miller's Court, off Dorset Street, Spitalfields, at 10:45 a.m. on Friday 9 November 1888. The throat had been severed down to the spine, and the abdomen virtually emptied of its organs. The heart was missing.
I think Zodiac wanted to be Jack. Or worse. I think he wanted to do a similiar murder as Jack had done.
I think Zodiac probably killed people before the letter campaign.
And when the rush he got from killing wasnt as strong as it was from the beginning, he added the element of calling the police/members of the victims family.
So were do a serial killer as famous as Zodiac go after the Stine murder? What would top being the Zodiac?
Probably commiting even worse crimes.

I wish the image of George and his dog had copied better from the microfiche. From the picture, he looked like a very pleasant man (and his dog was cute too).

My friends father was the post man on that route. He said George was very well liked, and everyone was so shocked. Wonder IF he dog barked when the crime was happening?

Several Criss-Cross slashes also were inflicted on his right upper chest and three lacerations were found on Pimentals body. When found Pimentals' body was clothes only with an undershirt and shirt and his shoes and socks. His trousers were alongside the body and his shirt was under his right shoulder. Mulantax said special agents from the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation in Sacramento lifted several intact fingerprints at the scene .

First clue was the eye, then check out the buttons, and the cross-cross slashes in the above post.

Whether or not Pimental was a Z victim, it wouldn't hurt to look into this case - and it IS mighty interesting.

Very strange that little Vallejo would have such a macabre murder so soon after the known Z killings.

Be interesting if we could learn more about the "reports of malicious mischief" Pimental made to the cops in prior months/years.
