| Marie Anstey is another possible victim listed in Graysmith's YB. She died within a day or so of Eva Blau death. I think that Marie's death was covered in the Santa Rosa newspaper because at the onset of each investigation the cause of death was unclear and other similarities. Marie was found in Lake County near the border with Napa County in a very rural area. The road she was found on is named Morgan Valley Road in Lake County but it is a continuation of Berryessa-Knoxville Road in Napa County. These articles do not take you through a definite cause of death. I think that there are probably more detailed articles in the VTH as Marie was a resident of that city. But these articles do pretty well detail the finding and identification of her body. I have included the March 31, 1970 article that I posted in Eva Blau's thread here as well because the article covers Marie equally as much. Maybe someone can go to the library in Vallejo and get more articles on Marie's death?!? I was able to find a short article from an out of the area newspaper that gives Marie's cause of death. It seems she, too, was found to have died from an overdose of mescaline. I would like to see a longer more detailed article about her cause of death though. Eva Blau and Marie Anstey lived in different counties, how odd that they both would have the same cause of death and have died pretty much in the same 24 hour period. When you look at both cases together it does seem terribly suspicious. | |

| If I remember correctly, Marie was known as Toni Romo . I read that she had been swimming and bumped her head. The people who where with her, dumped her body elsewhere. I find it hard to believe that bump killed her, because the autopsy showed it was not enough to kill her. There was a rumor back then about a girl who was a snitch ,that she was pushing up daisies up north. She was taken from the Coronado Inn. As a waitress I heard many stories, some were very hard to believe. I have no way of knowing if Toni was the girl that Don Porter was talking about. Mescaline was his drug of choice. When I was told about a girl pushing up daises, I felt it was just a warning to me, to keep my mouth shut, because I knew too much about the drugs and phony money ring in Vallejo.

| Three more articles about Marie Anstey. One that focuses on her and two which include her as well as Eve Blau. They seem to be waffling on the cause of her death with these articles. I would still like to see some articles from the VTH, her hometown newspaper. | |

| Seagull, The articles from VTH are our "little list" next visit to the Library. Love researching at the Library..but was hoping we could all chip in for our own microfiche machine The microfiche machine in Vallejo is totally the pits! GREAT Articles and totally appreciate you tracking them down for us! Much Appreciated! Marie Antoinette Anstey's death is totally strange. It would be great to learn as much as we can.

| Subject: car problem ? Mon Jan 09, 2012 5:05 pm | |
| When her car was found, it was inoperative . I would like to know what made it inoperative ? Was it a flat tire ,or a wire missing ? Could the killer ( If she was killed , and it seems so )been hiding in the back seat of her car, followed by a accomplice from the Coronado Inn ? Then after taking her, removed something from the car to make it unable to drive ? If so, that sure looks closer to a Z like murder. It looks like she was headed back home ,when what ever happened to her car happened . Another scenario, her cars breaks down and the killer picks her up.
Could that restaurant have been Mr. Ed's , next to the Coronado Inn ? Not many restaurants were open that late, the only other one I knew of, was in Napa ,just past the State Hospital on the left side of the road. If she ate anything, it would have been found in her stomach contents .

| We could have neatly cut out the articles, but felt the other news on those pages was pretty interesting. ( For those of you who wonder why ? )
After posting all of the articles, Zam's husband let us know that there was a Zodiac movie on the Chiller station. Neither one of us had seen this one before. We noticed that it was shot in Vallejo, a place Zam and I are very familiar with. Zamantha grew up there ,and I worked there ,at The Coronado Inn late 60's to 1970 or 71. For sure it was thee hot spot for people to go to, they came from all over the bay area, even San Francisco. I have no idea if I was working there the night Toni Anstey went missing ?

Sorry to go of course of these great articles you ladies found, but you are right Sandy...some good stuff aside of Anstey! Look at the bottom about the guy who worked at the Napa State Hospital...and above right. What's up with that? A guy shoot his wife in Napa?

| When I think of Sears Point Road, 37/29 I think of the old store that used to be out there. It was called AGE which is short for Affiliated Government Employees. It was a huge membership store. Of course A LOT of people in Vallejo belonged. It was a store for the military & civilian employees to shop. So those working at MINSY & Travis AFB shopped there. Also retired Military could shop there. | |

| Wow! You know there was way too much action (homicides) between Vallejo, Napa and Sonoma Counties from '68 - '70....Has to be a connection....The Coronado, waitress jobs, disabled vehicles, just sounds way too familiar.... | |
