His spelling was probably about on par with Z's by the look of him. But I wouldn't count him out for the LHR hit at minimum, if his handwriting wasn't a match. I favor the idea of a cohort. Does look like the LB sketch, and big enough though eh? Age problem? And would Mageau have known him, where did Mike go to school? I suppose Mike might have kept his mouth buttoned if he knew it was Price, and split.

Mike and his brother went to Hogan High. Class of '68 I think. I know they were sophomores in '66.

More Harry Martin. As usual you have to sift through the assumptions and look for a potential nugget of truth. I think Mike actions could be consistent with getting shot by what he knew as the Vallejo underworld, ie. denial of any knowledge and leaving Vallejo. Maybe bulking up with a possible confrontation with Price or Ott. Palm print stuff interesting...

Also Mike's curious statement on the DVD doc about "too bad she got killed because of me". Slip of the tongue, or just incoherent baloney. Also Pam's insistence that he knew the killer.

One problem I see with this scenario, aside from Price riding a tricycle to Riverside College, is the call after BRS. What drug related hit involves running down to a payphone and claiming it? Unless the whole deranged killer smokescreen had already been cooked up and they just hadn't written any letters yet. Or the shooter enjoyed it so much he just had to brag about it, or an attempt at a confession he couldn't go through with.

Hmm, the plot continues to thicken. I sure wish I had gotten this 'communication' Harry speaks of when I bought the files. There was supposed to be a second box that Harry never found.

I know a Vallejo native about the right age, still lives there, on Georgia or thereabouts, and I've talked Z with him before. I'll PM you his name, see if you can find it in the books.

It would have to be something like LHR being, let's say whomever for whatever reason...drugs.

It happens...LE is getting close..Darlene and/or Mike know too much...they too are killed....diversion away from local boys, Zodiac is created.

I guess anything is possible.

Here's one more, mostly same info:


Not trying to read too much into the articles about Price,and his escape, but the timeline is interesting. Zodiac had not written since March,1971. Danny escapes on December 26,1973, and in January, 1974, Zodiac writes for the first time in 3 years.

Zodiac writes again on February 14, 1974 the last confirmed letter he ever writes. This Feb 24, 1974 article mentions 'JUDGEMENT & SENTENCE' for Danny Price (I presume he's going back to jail)


He's sentenced, and possibly sent back to jail, and there is never another confirmed Z letter My question is, did original Danny's prison time start around the time the last March 1971 letter from Zodiac is received?

Apparently, some things dont change. Here's the guy that helped Danny with his 1974 escape:

"A man was arrested Tuesday after police found him in a car a little after midnight at Veteran’s Memorial Park in American Canyon on suspicion of having a glass pipe with a usable amount of methamphetamine, according to American Canyon police.
Thomas Howe, 68, of Vallejo, was at the park after hours, Chief Jean Donaldson said.
Howe was booked into the Napa County jail on suspicion of drug possession and drug paraphernalia possession, police said."
